Zachary Gilbertson, DMD
Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am passionate about providing compassionate and high-quality dental care, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to practice dentistry in the beautiful and welcoming town of Madison, Indiana.
My Experience
After receiving my Doctorate of Medicinal Dentistry (DMD) from Oregon Health and Science University in 2004, I have spent the first 13 years of my career enthusiastically dedicated to offering high-quality and compassionate dentistry. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in several associate dentist roles, including working with and learning from two premier dentists in the Indianapolis area. In addition, I owned and operated a dental practice in Scottsdale, AZ, for five years, before relocating to Indiana. I have also invested considerable financial resources and personal energy into pursuing continuing education of the highest quality. In fact, I completed an exhaustive and comprehensive ten-month mini-residency in implant surgery. Courses like these fuel my passion and enhance my clinical skills, providing me the opportunity to become the most knowledgeable and well-rounded clinician I can be.
What to Expect
As your dentist, here’s what you can expect when you come in for your next appointment:
- Comfortable, stress-free, gentle dentistry
- A straightforward approach that is comprehensive in nature
- Working together to come up with solutions that specifically meet your needs
A Little More about Me
I was born and raised in Independence, MO, a suburb of Kansas City. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent four years as a supply airman living in different places around the world. During this time, I began my undergraduate work and completed the bulk of it at Boise State University.
Outside of dentistry, my main priority is spending time with family and friends - especially my wife, Trisha (an Indiana native and Hanover College alum), and son. I’m a fan of many sports and particularly love being outdoors in the elements. One of my greatest adventures was hiking the Grand Canyon - from the south rim to the north rim and back to the south rim (more than 45 miles) in under 24 hours. Call me crazy! Recently, I’ve also discovered a new passion - brewing specialty coffee. I’ve been known to geek out over coffee as much as I do dentistry! I also value being part of a faith community and giving my time and gifts to serve others. Sometimes this includes dentistry - I’ve traveled to Mexico and Kenya as part of dental mission trips and served in a volunteer faculty role at a homeless dental clinic in Phoenix, AZ.
